Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+
Fastest 4-door around Nurburgring
Affalterbach/Adenau. With an officially measured and certified time of 7:25:41, the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ (fuel consumption combined: 11.3 l/100 km, CO2 emissions combined: 257 g/km) is the world’s fastest series production four-seater on the legendary North Loop of the Nürburgring. At the wheel of the fully equipped standard eight-cylinder GT 63 4MATIC+ was AMG Development Engineer Demian Schaffert. The former racing driver was involved in developing the high level of driving dynamics of the four-door coupé and was able to demonstrate the performance of the powerful 470 kW/639 hp sports car to impressive effect with his record lap.
The Torturous ‘Ring’
The Nürburging-“Nordschleife” (North Loop) is regarded as the world’s toughest race track. Therefore a record lap is the ultimate test of a sports car. The AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ offers the best conditions for this: Its standard equipment includes driving dynamics highlights such as fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, active rear axle steering, electronically controlled rear axle differential lock and AMG DYNAMICS agility program. The optionally available Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 tyres enabled the last grain of grip for optimum traction and perfect acceleration out of bends of the “Green Hell”. The record lap was measured precisely by the neutral experts of “wige SOLUTIONS”. The correct specification of the vehicle as well as the lap time was additionally certified by an independent notary public.
