114 Coupe surfaces with just 11k miles
Arkansas discovery

SOLD- Thank you – See our current listings HERE

We like the crisp, razor edged 114 coupes but have only owned one that made us proud, the white/black two tone featured in the May/June 2013 issue of MBCA‘s excellent STAR magazine. That car is now being enjoyed by a serious MB enthusiast in the Philippines. However, Arkansas has been hiding an amazing 11k mile 1975 280C for some decades and that car is now sitting at the MercedesHeritage headquarters awaiting a full re-commissioning. This must be one of the lowest mileage 114 coupes remaining of the 13,151 constructed globally from 1972-1976.

Still fitted with its original 1975 era Michelin 185 HR 14 XVS tires, our new coupe is now back on the road after a very careful inspection and preparation after decades of sitting. We’ve sifted through the comprehensive handbook set and had a good look at the original window sticker.

The dark blue poly coupe had a base price of $13,520 and carried just two options, metallic paint @ $420 and a Becker Europa radio @ $328. We found a weathered manila paper notebook with a few gasahol(!) fill-up notations and a hand written note on the front by Mrs. DeWitt noting the day she purchased the car new and the salesman’s name as well. Charming stuff.

Back on the road after sitting for some years, out gorgeous blue metallic 114 coupe glows in the afternoon sun.

The interior is essentially in new condition with negligible evidence of use. Dash pad is flawless as is the dash face wood. Note the floor shift selector. Becker Europa AM/FM radio was a $328 option.
