This 190SL was sold new to an enthusiast in Falls Church, VA in 1962. That individual died in 1963.
The current owner was the original owner's next door neighbor and expressed interest in buying the car from the estate.
The car generally sat unused until 1992 whereupon the current owner (and neighbor of the original owner) finally
was able to purchase the car from the estate.
It had not been registered since 1971 and showed less than 33k miles on the clock.
The car was used sparingly until the current owner decided to progressively restore the car beginning in1994.

Over the next 6 years the car received a comprehensive 'street restoration' that included the following work.
Meade's Auto Restoration: Full respray - Full engine bay strip/paint - Hard top strip/paint - Misc. minor coachwork repair
Group 44 INC: Full engine rebuilt - Full carburetor rebuild - All ancillary systems rebuilt.
Bud's Benz: Full interior - Rear axle reseal/bushing/transmission reseal and more...
White Post Restorations: Extensive cosmetic work and general mechanical refurbishment.

The car has had minimal use since completion and has been carefully protected on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina.
The paint and chrome remain in exceptional condition with but a few small areas of paint showing its age.
The interior remains exceptionally nice with a very subtle patina of age.
The car runs exactly as it should with none of the issues associated with Solex carbs.
Group 44's full carb rebuild is impressive. Both cold start and hot start characteristics excellent.

The driving dynamics are excellent as well, taught precise and a joy to drive.
All the restoration is documented via extensive files from Meade Restoration, Bud's Benz, White Post Restoration and Group 44.

Excellent panel fit and factory correct panel gaps - Perfect original trunk floor - Al original sheet metal.
Original nose and inner panels - Crisp door sills and latch/hinge areas - Excellent paint depth and gloss.
